Meet The Team

DAVID - OWNER

David, Owner Southern Blooms Florida Plant Nursery

David’s love for plants can be traced back to his maternal grandparents who were farmers of citrus, strawberries, okra, squash, and an assortment of crops. David would often go with his grandfather to the Plant City, Florida, market to sell the day’s produce. David’s paternal grandparents enjoyed orchids, roses, and hydrangeas. It was through these experiences that David’s love for growing plants bloomed.

An Electrical Engineer by trade, David has worked for Tampa Electric Company for nearly 40 years.

Upon retirement, David’s focus will be to enjoy the opportunities to meet others that share his love for plants and in particular plumeria, and other tropical plants. David co-owns Southern Blooms with his wife, Paula.

PAULA - CO-OWNER

She became a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her and David’s first child and dedicated her life to caring for her family and community service to her church and the Impact Program. Paula handles much of the administrative work for Southern Blooms since it was formed.

MAC - ASSOCIATE

At the age of eight and while working with his grandma in her Winter Haven garden, Mac fell in love with plants and watching them grow. By 14, Mac began a journey that would lead him to landscape designing and installation for his Father’s landscape company. In time, Mac started growing some plant materials for his dad’s nursery. By his mid-twenties, Mac had his own landscaping business and growing plants where he soon fell in love with plumerias. He currently owns his own landscaping business and has worked in helping to build the Southern Blooms brand.
